“I am uniquely talented and creative. I defy labels,” says Donna.  This 18 year-old classy fashionista admits to being a shopaholic.  Her fashion obsession is on clothes and accessories.

Donna is a Business Management, major in Corporate Business, student at the Assumption College.  She’s into dancing.  ”It is actually my thing.  I started dancing since I was 5 years old.  I am currently a dancer at TEMPO Dance and Arts Center and a part of The Assumption Dance Company,” she claimed.

“I aspire to be a model.  Models can express what they feel, and who they really are.  I love being present at photo shoots, I want to show the world my easy on the eye smile. , ” -Donna

Weekly Nail Care (15-20 minutes each week):

1. One of the most important parts of maintaining strong, healthy nails for life is making sure you have the vitamins, minerals and other important nutrients to maintain nail strength.
2. Remove any old nail polish. To remove the old polish, first moisten cotton with nail polish remover and press over the nail for a few seconds to soften the polish. Then with a firm movement, bring the cotton from the base of the nail to the tip. Repeat this process until all of the polish is gone.
3. Shape the nail, using a file or emery board. File each nail tip from corner to center; do not file in a see-saw motion with the emery board because doing so can cause ridges in the nail and nail splitting.
4. Soak the hands in warm, soapy water for a few minutes to remove dirt. Clean under free edge of nail with orangewood stick.
5. The cuticle is the skin that grows from the finger onto the base of the nail (nail root). We recommend that the cuticle not be pushed back. Leaving the cuticle intact helps to prevent infection of the nail growing tissue.
6. Now apply clear nail polish. There is no reason to waste money on several different kinds of clear polishes such as a ridgefiller, base coat, top coat or nail strengthener. They all do about the same job. After the clear polish dries, apply a color polish of your choice if you wish. Let dry. You may then reapply the clear polish as a top coat. This will help strengthen the nail and prevent chipping of the nail polish.
7. Finally, apply a moisturizing cream or lotion to the hands and cuticles. This will help prevent splitting of the nails.

Nail Care Tips:

• A good time to do your manicure is after you have taken a shower, bath or after washing the dishes. This is because these activities remove the dirt from under the nail.
• Nail polish thinner can be used to thin out nail polish that has become too thick. Keep the polish in the refrigerator to make it last longer.
• Try not to use nail polish remover more than once a week. Nail polish remover causes the nails to dry out. Dry nails crack and split more easily than nails that are well hydrated (well-moisturized).
• A top coat or sealer is a liquid that is applied over the nail polish. Any clear nail polish can be used as a top coat or sealer. This will minimize chipping or cracking of the nail. On natural nails, a clear coat can be used every day for seven days to give the nail protection and keep the moisture in.
• After washing your hands, apply a cream or lotion. Hands and nails tend to get dried out from soaps and cleansers. You should try to keep your hands and cuticles well lubricated, with a moisturizer such as Aquaphor, Moisturel, Vaseline. You should use an oil or moisturizer at bedtime every night.
• Sometimes nail polish, dirt and bacteria can stain the nails. This can be removed by using a Q-tip or an orangewood stick with a cotton tip. Soak the cotton in 10 parts water mixed with 1 part bleach, then rub the nail where the stain is. This will remove most stains from the nails. Scrub under the nails with a nail brush or toothbrush with soap or bleach solution to remove stains under the nails.
• A vitamin called biotin makes nails stronger in animals. Some studies suggest that it may help strengthen human nails. Biotin is available at health food stores.

Last week’s shoot for the WOWBatangas Teen Models, Audine, Allyza and Ynah, speaks about something soothing and refreshing.  Beautified my HMUA Ms. Hazel Faytaren and glamourized by fab clothes from Metamorphosis Online Shop, our teen models took a step forward with confidence and grace on themselves.

Audine, a 15 year-old hippie from Lipa City, Batangas, handles everything in a smart way.  At a young age, you would really admire how she learned stuffs like doing small business online, bake cakes for their business, design purses to be sold, and do chores on their restaurant while also enjoying hobbies such as writing, drawing, singing and playing acoustic guitar.  Well she really is an active teen!  She claims that her passion on doing business was inspired by her mom.  Despite her busy sched for these stuffs, she still managed to excel on her academics.

“As a teenager, I use organic products for my body so that I would always look fresh and young.  They are gentle and free from harmful chemicals which make my skin stay soft, supple and allergy free.” – Audine

For Ynah, a 16 year-old outgoing college gal, all things don’t always have to be rushed.  She believes in a bible verse, “There is an appointed time for everything.”  (Being through adolescence, I know how it feels wanting to push the freedom to its limits. It’s really confusing at some point.) She indulges herself much into socializing.  Like any usual teen, she loves to hang out and have good time with her friends, learn new things and explore the world.  Being into beauty pageants and pictorials aroused her interest in modelling.

“I feel refreshed every time I learn something new.  As a teen, I always see to it that for every thing I do, I think wisely and seek for God’s guidance first.” — Ynah

Allyza, a 16 year-old free-spirited darling, describes herself as a versatile lass who loves to do different things.  She’s into dancing, acting, and modelling.  Allyza also do sports like taekwondo and even represent her school to compete with the other schools.  Being a teen, she keeps herself updated about the latest kikay trends to know the ins and outs of fashion.  One interesting fact about her – she is a vegetable lover!  She claims that this is her secret to keep her young body fit and healthy.  She also has a habit of early morning jogging during weekends.

Teen life is indeed exciting and difficult.  Not just a fun stage, it is also where we take full responsibility for the fast growth on ourselves.  It isn’t just about peer pressure.  Be smart.  Be wise.  Think before you act or speak.  Balance school, home and outdoor stuffs.  And most of all — ENJOY!

Her brunette hair, perfect tan, and dark eyes are her greatest assets.  Standing 5’5″ tall, this 20  year-old lady could really turn heads wherever she goes.  She is Jelly, the Morena Eye-Catcher of Batangas City.

She is a BS Tourism fresh grad from the Lyceum of the Philippines University – Batangas.  More than her good looks, Jelly graduated Cum Laude and also snatched the Leadership Award from the CITHM Department.

Recently, she had a photo shoot with the Batangas Province Camera Club for their GMM model shoot.  Jelly also participated in the Fabulous Summer Fashion Show 2011 held at the Bay City Mall atrium, Hair Asia 21st National Open Championship where she was the model for the commercial make-up category, Bb. Lungsod ng Batangas 2011 where she bagged home the Ms. Photogenic award, and Ms. Eco Tourism 2007 where she emerged as Ms. Eco Tourism Air (2nd runner-up).

I just had eyelash extensions recently and got so curious on how it was done.  My eyes were closed for more than an hour, smelling the glue and feeling each eyelash get stuck on mine — and oh, I have to mention, the glue has a distinct smell, lol .  The wait was worth the results, anyway.  It gave my lashes extra length and fullness, making it appear bolder and thicker.  They looked really natural and saved me from using mascara and eye make-up.
